"Two home intruders, one being armed with a handgun, shot my brother in the head. For the last three years, he laid paralyzed until...
Just after midday on Saturday, March 23, 2019, I received word that my dear brother, Linden F. Lord, lovingly called Doc, went to sleep in the Lord.
I awoke trying to recall when was it, since adulthood, that my seven siblings and I were all together in one place. I remember the occasion. It was at our youngest sibling, Darren’s wedding. Thank God for that occasion! It was indeed a joyous one.
The next time we all gather will be to mourn our brother, friend, and a great Physician. There are two upsides to this sad situation - 1) He died in Christ and 2) he is no longer suffering. However, these two positives do not ease the pain that goes along with loosing a loved one. On behalf of my siblings, I bless God for Doc’s life. Though short, his life touched many; for that I am grateful.
1st Thess. 4: 16-17 tells us at "Christ’s second coming, at the sound of the trumpet, the dead in Christ shall rise first, then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with those in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord..." So, my brother, since you do not have to be doing God’s work of watching over us, RIP. Sleep on, Doc, until Christ comes."
