15 Minutes PLUS

Do you ever feel like you're running out of time?

I recently visited a church while traveling on the West Coast. During the Sabbath service, there was a pastoral appreciation segment. One of the presenters shared a powerful testimony.

Her husband was on life support and the doctors wanted her to pull the plug. She didn't want to do it. Her daughters didn't support the decision. Pastor D. was there for the family. He prayed and encourage them to trust God while the doctors pushed them to quickly make a decision.

The family finally gave in and allowed the doctors to pull the plug. Based on their medical expertise, the doctors anticipated that her husband would die within 15 minutes. The family waited anxiously for his last breath. The doctors kept telling them it would happen soon.

The husband lived for another 3 weeks. Not 15 minutes as the doctors' expected. He lived 15 minutes plus 3 additional weeks. What a mighty God we serve! The doctors were dumbfounded. They never anticipated such a miracle. It defied all their medical expectations.

The congregation busted into applause as the lady wrapped up her testimony and thanked the pastor for his intercessory prayer and ongoing support. I too felt grateful for God's blessing on this family. I started thanking God for being the Great Physician. I thanked Him for being the Creator. I thanked Him for having the final say in everything.

Her testimony helped strengthened my faith. I was reminded that God can and will go above and beyond what the doctors expect. He sits outside of time and has the power to stop, rewind, or extend time at His will. God makes the impossible, possible.

As I was encouraged by this testimony, I want to share this encouragment:

If you and/or your loved one is sick, and the doctors say, "There is no hope." Remember Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."

If you and/or your loved one is facing death, and the doctors say, "They have only 15 minutes left to live." Remember 2 Kings 20:5-6, God says "I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the LORD. And I will add unto thy days fifteen years."

Praise the Lord. God controls time!
