It was a day we were all looking forward to. The Third and Fourth Grade classes were extremely excited as we made our way to the Boston Science Museum on that beautiful Thursday morning. I dropped the children off at the doors of the museum and left to park. The parking should have taken five minutes max, but it was one hour later before I returned to the parking garage and the group.
When I pulled away from the curb where I left the children and another chaperone, I should have taken a left turn, but I mistakenly took a right turn. I was stuck in Boston traffic for several minutes. I also spent several minutes driving around trying to find my way back to the museum. My GPS was acting out of character, so I had to call my husband for help. Thank God for him. Thank God He kept me calm throughout the entire process.
By the time I got back to the group, it was lunchtime. I checked in with the group leader, who informed me of the happenings so far. We purchased tickets for the theater of our choice, but did not have to pay for them at that time. They would send an invoice to the school.

I wanted to intercept that, so I called the museum after returning to school. I explained the situation as best as I could, then asked how I could pay the bill without it going to the bursar. The person on the other end sounded a bit confused, so I paused to ask if she understood what I said. Her response was in the affirmative. Then she continued, “I am confused, because I am looking at your invoice and it has a zero balance.” I gasped and asked if she were sure. Her response, “Absolutely!” I rejoiced and praised the LORD for taking care of a $300+ invoice.
God is always faithful to His people. It pays to serve Jesus in Spirit and in truth. I did not even ask for this, because HE had already granted us a scholarship to the museum. I did not want to be greedy. Matthew 7:7-8, "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh, receiveth; and he that seeketh, findeth; and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened."
In this scenario, He gave without me asking, so Isaiah 65:24, “And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear” serves as a great reminder.
Thank You, God for stepping in even when we did not think to ask. HALLELUJAH!
